40 Days of Psalm 91 — Day 20

“You will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
nor the destruction that wastes at noonday” Psalm 91:5,6

Beloved,

The words are not readily understood, but as a groan from deep inside — suffering takes on significance in our lives, and we turn away from the hurt and sickness, knowing the Healer is here and willing to set us free.

Though, we are wounded — though, illness is ravaging our body, still we say “Blessed be the Lord.”

In this moment, this hour — redemption settles on you beloved — like a dove resting in its nest, issuing sounds of a nesting mother to its young.

We take joy in His Presence. We know He came to save and seek the lost, that none should perish. In this knowledge, as it becomes wisdom through out the experience of this day — we trust Him for all things.

Our eyes are focused on the Cross and the world just disappears into the background of things — our hearts are turned to Christ and His Arms that are outstretched, forgiving our sins and dying in His Love, then being reborn in the Resurrection.

The Faith that became a Shield — and its rampart, the bulwork that is the Buckler as it surrounds us in complete protection. This is the day of our Salvation, a Realization of His Love that Encompasses all things.

He hears your prayers — and He answers.

In the battle, though the enemy sought to seek a mortal blow — we know that the Kingdom of God is Eternal, never ending. Fear melts in the Presence of the Lord — and we are made new every morning.

The person we were yesterday, is not the person we are today.

And the person we are today, will not be the person we will become tomorrow.

I am reminded of the event where Paul was shipwrecked on an island, and as he gathered firewood — an adder (poisonous snake) bit his hand, and he just shook it off. Those there expected him to die, but he did not.

Today, let your Faith overcome you.

Today, let your Hope be the vessel you drink from.

Today, let the Love of Christ be your measure from which you draw your strength.

Open other’s eyes today — set the captive free, with His Love.

Become the Life in Christ to others — that desperately need Him.
