Luke 16:13 “No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”

Beloved,

In the midst of every day, there is a moment in which you take breath, wondering what is next. To this event, you bring all the teachings and understanding that have been given you. Still it is not enough. Still there is more needed, for even a reservoir must be opened to be filled once again. When the answer comes, it rises slowly like yeast in the dough that has been kneaded then baked within the oven. The fragrance of the new bread floods the room, and you realize that this is the answer. You look for all the right ingredients, but lack that which will make it complete. Turning to the Father of the house, you ask, “May I have some more.” The Father knowing your need is quick to respond, and will provide exactly the right amount. In this you are truly wealthy.

Just down the road from you a heart breaks, but no one is there to hear it. It makes no sound, but the tears poured out in the silence of an empty house. But each drop that touches the floor is know by God. He holds each tear within His palm and holds it up, saying, “Send counsel to this young woman Holy Spirit.” Instantly there is a knock on your door. You have baked enough bread to share and have sensed the Spirit’s prodding to knock on a stranger’s door. The owner of the home steps cautiously to the window and peers at you, this stranger that has never knocked on her door before. Hurting from the pain of a broken heart, she quickly opens the door to your smiling face and the bread in your arms. Surely, the fragrance of the bread enters the house before you, and causes her to stop crying. You reach out your hand with the gift in hand, and she readily accepts.

She steps back indicating it is okay for you to enter her home. Small conversation comes and goes, as she devours the bread that you brought. Suddenly she rises and runs to a room down the hall and returns with a small child in her arms. The breath of Holy Spirit is strong within you and you reach for the child. Mother does not hesitate and places the baby in your arms. A whispered song erupts from your mouth, and you sing over the baby, “A breath is all that you need. The touch of a mother’s hand and an embrace of the Holy. Love has come to your house today. You are beautiful. Agree with me. You are all together lovely,” repeating the words in tender song.

You sing and worship the one that sent you to her door. The child breathes, and moves within your arms. The mother shouts in acclimation, saying, “My baby lives! My baby lives!” You are stunned, recognizing that the child when first handed to you was unresponsive and silent. Not once did the thought occur that the child was not breathing. It was all because of the bread, and a beautiful fragrance filling the home down the road. A child lives and a mother’s heart is healed all because of the bread. All because of the bread.
