Goodness and Mercy
Proverbs 8:17–21 “I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver. I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.”
Beloved,
Lord how do I comprehend what and who you are? My heart beats because of you. My next breath depends upon you and only you, for I have given everything that I have, that I might possess your love. You have made me rich in the Kingdom of God, my cup overflows and touches the nations with the Truth, the Gospel.
Surely, there is more. For when I seek you, I find you, for that is your promise to me. You satisfy my hunger and my thirst, but it leaves wanting even more of you and your presence. I gladly pour out my life at the foot of the Cross, where you gave everything to purchase my heart and soul. To you I give thanks and worship.
You have established me on this earth and I must fulfill the destiny you have planned thousands of years ago for my life. My steps must carry your love into the dark places of this world, where light is desperately needed. You are the illumination, brighter than ten-thousand suns, that ignites a world sputtering on the brink of disaster and then redeems her from the fall.
Because of you Lord, all is right with the world and all creation. When you created us with your breath, you called us, “Good.” This goodness is our calling, our value. That which the Lord has called good, cannot be taken from us — though we walk away at times. You gently call us back, like a shepherd that calls to his sheep that have walked away from the green pasture.
I delight in you and your Love.
Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life.
