2 Timothy 1:9 “Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began”

Beloved,

His own purpose and grace. You have to have one to have the other. The word being used here, “given” describes an anointing, an imparting, a gift. Nothing that we have accomplished in this life time will ever rise to the level of the Cross and His Sacrifice. That horrific moment where Jesus allowed himself to be tortured, scourged, and beaten, then nailed to a wooden cross. It establishes the one thing that we need, not ourselves, not some other person, but God alone will suffice. The seasons that we travel through, come and go, but God never changes. His love is beyond any earthly imagination, and breaks through where hardship or difficulty holds us hostage. It is an expectation, a hope in the one true God, that will deliver us and nothing else. His grace is sufficient.

A long time ago, we were designed to be the image of God, reflecting all that He is, all the good, all the hope, all the love, all the perfect rapture, that holiness provides. In that design, a purpose (calling) was woven in to our DNA, so that it would never be removed. Our spirit speaks of these things, as God draws near. In our worship and praise of the Most High God, we find ourselves enveloped in His embrace, being fueled by His fire, His passion for all mankind. In your quiet time, listen to His voice. Even in the the midnight hours, the Lord sings over us and teaches us great and wonderful things. This plan for our lives, was put into action before the world began. We were born into a season, meant only for us.

What have we done with our time?

Still, our lives may not reflect the Kingdom of God, He provides a way though, no matter our age or capability. Every heart is guided by Holy Spirit, and we make the choice to follow or not. But it is the redemption, the heart and love of God, that brings us back, centered on Him. Through His Son Jesus, we are redeemed. He breaks us out of prison and set our feet on higher ground. At times we are broken, but He heals us, strengthens us when we are weak. We are made strong through Him. I can only imagine what it must have been like, to see the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit working on our calling, planning our purpose.

He called us with a holy calling, before we were even born.

He calls us.
