Romans 12:1 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”

1 Corinthians 13:3 “IAnd though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not love, it profiteth me nothing.”

Beloved,

“have not love . . .” carries the weight of heaven and earth within its meaning. Touching others with anything but, is a an act of evil intent, dealt out through motives not founded on love. The Kingdom of God, can be called down to earth and stretched out upon this planet as a tent would when the tent stakes are pulled out. It is the field in which we act, have our way, following after God’s Way. Surely, we touch the hem of His garment when we reach for a life put before us. It is not the power of our own flesh, but that which has been anointed upon us. We groan inwardly, seeking the fulfillment of Christ in our lives. But that inward groan, brings God near and breaks the yoke that this world has put upon us.

Look at the phrase, “a living sacrifice.” It is not a dead body that must be thrust on the fire, but a live body and will continue to live in the presence of Christ. The fire burning before us was ignited by God the moment we believed in His son Jesus. Our hearts must be sound, clothed in Christ and endowed with Holy Spirit’s presence. We can do nothing without God. He has designed us to move forward and upward, with time spent in the Kingdom and with God. The Word of God is living. It is a breath, an embrace, the words spoken from His mouth to our ear.

Rummage through the past events in your life. Know the moments that were inspired by God, and not your own devices. Self gets in the way of God’s purpose, but when yielded to His calling, anything is possible. How do we become and maintain this position as a living sacrifice? It is at the hands of our flesh, when it lays down the selfishness that fuels our self interest before Christ came in to our life. It can still direct our feet, if not wholly given to God. That Glory we lift to the Father and to Jesus and to Holy Spirit was given to us first. For without His love first being given to us, we would be unable to love, to glorify God. In God, all things are possible.
