Treasure Heart
Psalm 102:1–7 “Hear my prayer, O Lord, and let my cry come unto thee. Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily. For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth. My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread. By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin. I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert. I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.”
Beloved,
You are like “a sparrow alone upon the house top.” In our minds, we arrive at such a place when doubt and hopelessness moves in, and displaces the truth written in our hearts. It’s when we dismiss the promises of God as only words and not gospel. When we find ourselves in such a place, God always reminds us, always brings us back to the truth. He will never leave nor forsake us. God is always at our side, and Holy Spirit lives within us. He has taken up residence in the “perfect heart,” that beats within our chest. There is not one like our Lord, who shines brighter than the sun, ten-thousand times brighter.
Troubles will always beset us, but we have to decide what to do in the midst of such things. We can fall back on earthly knowledge, the hard diagnosis of a doctor or a letter in the mail that speaks of money owed, that we don’t have. Sons and daughters can cause conflict with parents, and storm out of the house. Husbands and wives can disagree, and not speak to one another because of offenses. Death may come your way through a close family member, but still God is with us. That battlefield of the mind creates such an environment, that we ‘think’ there is no solution,or no exit strategy.
Jesus’s eye is on the sparrow. He never relents, never fails, never gives up on us. We are His precious possession, that He gave everything for. We are more precious than silver, more valuable than gold, and more beautiful than diamonds. Yes, the Lord says, “You are a pearl of great worth.” His breath is readily available to us, and we should always realize that when we inhale, it is the breath of heaven. Just upon the realization that we carry the Kingdom of God within us, that we must know the truth. Our hearts belong to Him, He bought us with His blood. Just as the sun rises every morning, God is steadfast to show up when needed. There may be times, where He feels distant, but that is the mind’s deception. The heart when trusted to lead, will guide you into perfect peace.
Grow in this today beloved, that His eye is on the sparrow. And you are worth far more than any bird that flits here and there. Let Glory be released in your praise, let worship flow like a river from the depths of your being. There is much to be said, declaring that your “soul must bless the Lord.” We think (mind) that it is an assumption that our soul will always bless the Lord. But it will not, and the soul must be commanded to obey the Lord, to bless His Name. We are His children, and our hearts are filled to overflowing with the things of Heaven. We are not our own, and must lean heavily upon His Truth. All that call upon the Lord, will be saved. It is a recognition of the heart, that truly God is King and there is no other way to the Father but through His Son Jesus.
Let God speak clearly from that throne room set up within the temple we call our body. The skin is but the outer court, and we must cross that obstacle and even through the inner court of the mind, to the very place where He resides. Cross the threshold of your heart declaring His mercies, where faith and love are imparted and your breath when breathed on others will heal the sick, will make the lame walk, and the blind will see. We are a true treasure of the Kingdom, and God is King.
