Daniel 2:17–23 “Then Daniel returned to his house and explained the matter to his friends Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. He urged them to plead for mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that he and his friends might not be executed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven and said:”
““Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever;
wisdom and power are his.
He changes times and seasons;
he deposes kings and raises up others.
He gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to the discerning.
He reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what lies in darkness,
and light dwells with him.
I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors:
You have given me wisdom and power,
you have made known to me what we asked of you,
you have made known to us the dream of the king.””
Beloved,
Many will come to you in the days ahead for interpretation of their dreams and visions. You will pray to God, and He will reveal even the details of the dream or vision, and He will give you the interpretation. Having done so, you will have brought another child into the Kingdom of God. It is the faith that you have been endorsed with, that precious gift from God, which is a Daniel anointing. And Faith without action is dead. This morning while I stood in line at a Starbucks, the Lord spoke to me and said to tell the girl sitting in the corner with her laptop, “She is His precious daughter.”
In our walk with God, where we say to Him, “You can have all of me,” means just that. We are His and have given ourselves to the work of the Kingdom, expanding its borders wherever we place our feet. But in this moment, I asked God, “Are you sure? Was that you God telling me to share that word with the girl in the corner working on her laptop?” It was in that moment, He made it clear to me that when I say I am His, He says, “I will not let you leave this place until you tell her, “She is my precious daughter.” That was quite clear and I obeyed Him. Walking up to the girl, I said, “I don’t know if we know each other, but God said to tell you, ‘You are God’s precious daughter,’ and then I began to leave, but there was more she needed to know.
This young lady needed to know how important it was for her to know this, and I added, “He was not going to let me leave this Starbucks without me sharing that information with you.” And at that, she said a quiet, “Thank you!” Then her eyes teared up, but you could tell the tears were not sad, but glad tears. Her countenance lifted, and her face brightened. That was it, God used me as a drive-by to make sure this one child of God knew who she was and how valued she is. Then I left Starbucks knowing I had obeyed Him, but also knowing that this young lady’s life had somehow been changed in just a few seconds.
Like Daniel and his friends, you will have your hands full soon. You are being called to be courageous and bold, and your ears will hear His voice clearly. You will know that it is God speaking to you and through you, for we live in perilous times and children are dying for lack of knowledge, of not knowing who they are and how valued they are to the Father. Look how glad Daniel was when God provided the details of the King’s dream and its interpretation. These events still happen, and God is looking for willing participants in the Kingdom of God, to engage the Holy through His Spirit and to bring freedom to the captives. Daniel’s praise to the Father ended with, “I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors: You have given me wisdom and power, you have made known to me what we asked of you, you have made known to us the dream of the king.”
Now go and do likewise. Be the presence of the Living God on earth, allowing the Holy to be transferred into this world. Break in Father, and let the world know how valued they are to you. Use us.
